Motty’ Perkins funeral service set for Saturday

A memorial service for the life of veteran talk show host, Wilmot ‘Motty’ Perkins is to be held on Saturday, at the Webster Memorial United Church in St. Andrew.
The service is set to begin at 2 p.m. and will be broadcast live on Power 106 FM.
It is reported that the <span style="font-weight: bold">family had initially expressed reservations about having the funeral</span> because of concerns about accommodation for the thousands of friends and fans of the late talk show host.
The ‘Perkins on Line’ host died at his Stony Hill home in St. Andrew on February 11 after a brief illness.
Wilmot Perkins started his career in radio in 1960.
He has hosted the programme Perkins on Line on Power 106 since April 2002.
Perkins has been an advocate for local issues including issues of human rights in Jamaica, as well as growth and development.
